My name is Laurie O’Neill.
I am a weaver of threads and vines, a binder of books, a maker of paper, a carver of lines, a lover of tendrils, stars, and holes.
I am entranced with things that go unnoticed, the magical spaces between yarns and branches, the movement of mountains to sand, and dictionaries.
I love the connection between hand and soul and object, skin and water and sky, toes and roots and earth.
Weaving has been important to me for over thirty years. Although largely self-taught, in 2014 I received my BA in Studio Art from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I am addicted to art retreats and workshops in beautiful places.
I journal my thoughts and I make books that I would like to fill with life, but I make more books than I can fill, so sometimes I offer them to you so that you can fill them with your life.
My husband Sandy and I live in Greensboro, North Carolina. Our cat Pablocito is our child. We have been privileged to earn the love of many rescued and feral cats during the last three decades. Our two rescued parakeets, Paquito and Frida, hate everybody.
