First book of the week – Greek binding, mostly finished. Second book made tonight from my handmade paper, but I’m too tired to fight this Mac any more. But I’m happy! I’m trying to upload photos each day but I probably won’t blog unless my hands need a break.

I finished the labyrinth tapestry several weeks ago, and forgot that I had not posted it. I don’t have a camera right now but I do have a scanner. The first photo is the tapestry and the second is the photograph of the labyrinth at Healing Ground in Oak Ridge that inspired the tapestry.

I’m doing pretty well so far with going out to the gazebo for 15-20 minutes each morning to write. Those minutes sure do fly by! I found a good use for my cell phone at home finally – I can’t wear a watch (I kill batteries within hours) but I can use the phone as…

Another goal that I’ve started today – let’s see how long THIS lasts! – I’m getting up 15 minutes earlier to go back to the gazebo and drink my first cup of coffee and journal or sketch or just birdwatch. As long as the weather is nice. If it gets horribly humid and hot –…

Making recycled paper Making and writing and painting and drawing and glueing in journals – some are altered books Yes, I already spilled something on the “Sticks and Stones” journal, made with pizza box covers and my handmade paper. Here’s the first handbound book, covers made from a Kandinsky poster book, paper made by Susanne…

I figure that I’ll get started on my Saturday morning coffee pot post early, except without the coffee. Substitute: Yuengling. I’ll be flitting about in the morning, ditzy with joy to finally be going over to Susanne’s for a day of papermaking, picking up my chicken at the market, trying not to have a panic…

Sort of, anyway. I took most of Squirt and Mama Kitty’s fur to Susanne, who is adding it to a batch of pulp for our papermaking day June 14. She is going to show me how to make the paper and then let me go at it on my own all day. I’ve made the…

The latest progress on “mindful presence” – this was started in Lisa Engelbreicht’s Fabric Art Collage class at Art and Soul at Hampton. I liked the right angles and the balance, but something about it still bothered me. So I began clipping corners, and then I decided to start swapping corners. I like the result…

I carved this stamp of Squirt today. Mama Kitty’s will be along soon. I think it will look good with dark brown ink on gold paper. Today I was playing with Lumiere metallic gold paint, the alphabet stamps that Rice gave me, and some stamps that I carved. I’m right pleased with this stamp.

Another device to help me focus: a list of my works in progress. I’ll post about these and photograph as I actually progress. From the oldest to newest might be the best way to go, although I doubt I’ll proceed in this order. Fabulously ugly scarf III – still on the floor loom in the…
