I am not familiar with this kind of oak and need to research it. It has such interesting acorn caps.

    the Bur Oak [Quercus macrocarpa] has acorns like that but the leaves are very different. excuse me for asking but are you quite sure the leaf is from the same tree?

      Good question because I am not. It is a young tree that is leafless at the moment and I was guessing. I didn’t see any other leaves that looked like oak, but it was at the edge of a parking lot.
